Earth Day 2024 at LRZ

Friday, April 19th
9 am to 2 pm

Earth Day 2024 at the Lee Richardson Zoo will take place on Friday, April 19th from 9 am to 2 pm!

2024's Conservation Focus will lay on Latin American Wildlife and this year our Conservation Heroes are raising funds for the Cocksomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary in Belize! The sanctuary is the first-ever Jaguar preserve!

T-shirts will be available for purchase in a few months! The design features a jaguar with the Mayan phrase "In Lak'ech ala K'in" which means "I am you, and you are me", chosen for its traditional use as a greeting and a reminder that we all share one Earth and our own actions and choices impact those around us.

If you have any questions about the event, give us a call at 620-276-1250 or email zoo.education@gardencityks.us
